So I’m officially going back to work soon, and while I’m secretly excited to do some more adult thinking and take a mini-break (kind of) from diapers, I know it’s going to be real interesting to have a full house AND be productive. As of now, we officially have a plan together; a schedule to manage eLearning for Bennett, bottles for the babies, and naps for all. Fingers crossed that we can all keep it together!

Meanwhile, I suddenly feel motivated to wear something beyond my usual mom uniform. I put on some jeans and a sweater to run some errands the other day and Bennett said, “Mommy you look so pretty, where are you going?” I laughed and cried on the inside; my kids only see me in comfy clothes so with work looming, I think I may just step it up a notch. These are some of my go-to pieces that are cute, comfy, casual…and don’t scream ‘quarantined mom of four.’ PS no judgment here, if you are in yoga pants and a hoodie every day, I respect that. I would 100% choose that for myself if I didn’t have to join any Zoom calls lol.

  1. Chambray Shirt / I can honestly say I wear this more than I should. Dressed up or dressed down, it’s perfect for fall.
  2. Sweater Jacket / This is basically a more work-appropriate sweatshirt but still just as warm and comfy.
  3. Better Sweater / A classic pullover that’s a solid choice for (extra) casual Friday.
  4. Jersey Leggings / I especially like these because they come in so many colors. Makes it easy to wear leggings as much as possible because fall in Chicago is no joke.
  5. Striped Shirt / I love to wear this with jeans, booties and basically any other layer on top…or a few!
  6. Skinny Jeans / At least for me, great jeans are always tough to find. I’m willing to pay for ones that fit, but not an arm and a leg. These are my favorite pair and they come in a variety of different waists and lengths.
  7. Gripper Socks / With an entire house full of hardwood floors, these socks are the best. They’re super soft and support a good cause. What’s not to love?
  8. Slippers / These are a must-have for cold-weather months (ok – all year, let’s be honest) and officially part of my daily routine: wake up, shower, slippers, in that order.
